This policy explains how OTCheck handles information when you use the site. We aim to collect as little as possible. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send your rate, shift, or computed result to us.
Who is responsible
The operator of OTCheck is the personal information controller for data processed through this site. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to hello@otcheck.ph.
Calculator inputs
The numbers you enter into the calculator are processed locally in your browser. In the implementation reviewed for this policy, they are not transmitted to our servers, stored in an account, or included in analytics events. The “Copy breakdown” button writes the result to your own clipboard.
If you use a shared device, clear the page or close the tab when you are finished. The site does not save your calculator inputs in a database.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, we collect the first name, last name, email address, and message you submit so we can read and answer it. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use those details for advertising or analytics.
The form is delivered by Resend, our email provider, which processes the message on our behalf and may keep delivery logs under its own policies. The message arrives in our contact inbox and is kept only as long as needed to answer it and to follow up on a correction.
We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to messages sent to us. Please do not include salary figures or other details you would not want an email provider to process.
Hosting and technical logs
The site may be served through a hosting or content delivery provider. Like most websites, that provider may process standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamps for security, performance, and abuse prevention. We do not use those logs to identify individual visitors or to reconstruct salary inputs. We process this technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available. Retention follows the hosting provider’s standard configuration; we do not keep a separate copy of those logs.
Analytics
When the site is deployed, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics receives standard usage data such as the page you requested, the referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and interactions such as link clicks. Google uses the IP address to estimate location and does not store it in our reports.
Analytics loads only on the live site. It is not loaded in development builds or on local previews. The calculator does not call Google Analytics and does not send your rate, shift, or computed result to Google. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell the data.
You can block Google Analytics with a browser extension or content blocker. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on. If you block it, the calculator continues to work.
Cookies
The calculator does not require cookies. When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies or read identifiers to distinguish visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculator continues to work because it does not depend on them.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. Technical data may be processed by our hosting provider, by Google Analytics when enabled, and by Resend when you send a contact form message, each acting under its own terms. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the site from abuse.
Lawful basis and retention
We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional site for hosting logs. Where required, we rely on consent for analytics cookies and similar technologies. You can withdraw consent through your browser or the provider’s settings.
Calculator inputs are not retained by the site because they never leave your browser. Technical logs are retained only for the hosting provider’s standard period for security and abuse prevention. Analytics data is retained under Google’s retention settings for the property. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them.
Your rights under the Data Privacy Act
The Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) gives individuals rights over their personal data, including the right to be informed, to object, to access, to correct, and to erasure, subject to legal limitations. Because the calculator does not send us your salary inputs, we generally do not hold that data. For questions about technical logs or analytics data, contact us at the address below.
To exercise a right, email hello@otcheck.ph with “Privacy request” in the subject line and describe the data or action involved. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within the period required by the Data Privacy Act and National Privacy Commission issuances.
You may also contact the National Privacy Commission for concerns about the processing of personal data.
Children
The site is intended for employees, employers, and payroll practitioners. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the site’s features or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page. If we add a new data-processing feature, such as advertising, this policy will be updated before that feature goes live.
